Hawsons Corporate Finance team have completed the sale of Appstation Ltd (trading as Motivity), a Sheffield based, leading UK provider of mobile workforce management software, to Everfield, a European software buyer with over 30 businesses in its portfolio.
Motivity supports field-based businesses by replacing traditional on-site paperwork with digital job sheets, work orders, quotes, and invoices - all delivered through their user-friendly mobile app. They have grown into a well-established name in field service software and have built a strong reputation for customer support and reliability over the past two decades.
This deal will enable Motivity to build on its strong foundations, with Everfield able to provide the necessary tools and support to help them scale.
The transaction was led by Jack Parker, Corporate Finance Manager at Hawsons. He worked closely with the shareholders throughout the process, providing hands-on support and advice from early-stage preparation through to completion.
Jack Parker, Corporate Finance Manager at Hawsons, commented:
“Motivity is a great example of a founder-led business with deep industry knowledge and a loyal customer base. Helping them prepare for the sale and find the right partner for the next chapter was a pleasure. Everfield’s long-term approach made them a strong strategic fit for Motivity, and the deal came together naturally”.
Karl Wells, Simon Gellion, and Pat Gellion, Founders of Motivity, added:
“We are very excited about what’s ahead for Motivity. Jack and the team at Hawsons provided excellent support and practical advice throughout the transaction, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Selling a business can be a daunting task, however, thanks to the support and advice which Hawsons provided, we are confident that Everfield is the perfect choice to help Motivity grow even further”.
Legal advice for this deal was provided by Gavin Maddison, Luke Singleton and Harry Maw of Irwin Mitchell.
This deal represents another successful technology transaction for the Hawsons Corporate Finance team and highlights the continued appetite from private equity buyers (UK and overseas) for high-quality UK software businesses.
