At Hawsons Wealth Management our experts use cashflow modelling to help you visualise a forecast of your future finances.  This can assist in answering many questions, for example;

  • Will I have enough money to retire when I want to?
  • How long will my money last?
  • If I save more each month, what difference will that make?
  • Can I afford to make this gift to my children?
  • Can I reduce the amount of tax I am paying?
  • Can I afford to repay my debts sooner?

What is cashflow planning?

Cashflow planning is an assessment of your assets, income, debts and expenditure projected over your lifetime. The purpose of this is to see how likely it is that you will be able to achieve your financial goals.  Cashflow planning can also assist with managing the following:

Affordability

Future asset value estimates

Generational planning including planning to transfer assets to other family members

Tax planning and mitigation

The risk of running out of money in the future.

Why do we use cashflow planning?

Cashflow planning is an essential part of our advice process. For many clients, having a visual representation of their financial situation really helps to demonstrate the journey they are on. Cashflow planning enables us to analyse your lifetime income, assets, debts and expenditure. Using assumed growth rates and inflation rates we can demonstrate the likelihood of achieving your set financial goals. Cashflow modelling will show the effect of taking different courses of action on your future financial outcomes. Cashflow modelling can also demonstrate the effect that future market volatility may have on your invested assets, using past examples such as the credit crisis.

How cashflow planning can help you?

Cashflow planning will clearly illustrate if you are on track to achieving your financial goals or if you need to make any changes. If you are not on track to achieve your financial goals or we think that you may need to take different action the future, our financial advisors will structure a financial plan to help you navigate around any potential drawbacks.

As the model relies on data provided it is vitally important that your adviser is fully briefed with your current situation and any future aspirations.
